What seawall, dock and boat lift work costs around Daytona Beach

A canal lined with different kinds of shoreline side by side: an older concrete seawall, a newer white vinyl seawall and a slope of gray rock riprap, each with its own wooden dock

Waterfront work is priced by the foot for seawalls and by the square foot or the job for docks. The table below gathers rough 2026 national figures from Angi's cost guides in one place. Your quote will depend on length, access, the water and the permits, so treat these as a starting point, not a price.

Side view of a typical residential seawall. The yard is on the left and the river or canal on the right. Concrete or vinyl panels stand in a row, driven deep into the bottom. A poured concrete cap runs along the top. A steel tieback rod runs from the wall back under the yard to a buried anchor called a deadman. Filter fabric behind the panel joints holds the soil in, and weep holes let trapped water drain out.concrete captieback roddeadman anchor, 10 to 12 feet backfilter fabric behind the jointsweep hole, above the waterhigh tidelow tidepanels driven into the bottomyardriver or canal
How a typical waterfront seawall is put together. The panels hold the yard back, the cap ties them together along the top, and tiebacks to a buried anchor keep the wall from tipping out. Filter fabric keeps soil from washing through the joints, and weep holes let water drain out so pressure doesn't build up behind the wall.

What moves the price of a seawall?

  1. Length: The biggest factor. Seawalls are priced per linear foot.
  2. Access: A crew that can work from the yard costs less than one working from a barge.
  3. How bad it is: Sealing joints is the cheap end; leaning walls and cracked panels the expensive end.
  4. Material: Concrete, vinyl and rock price differently and last differently.
  5. Permits and engineering: Angi puts permits at $150 to $2,500; surveys and engineering add more on new walls.

Angi's rule of thumb applies to both seawalls and docks: when a repair approaches half the price of new, replacing is often the better buy.

What moves the price of a dock or lift?

Size first: a piling dock runs roughly $20 to $40 a square foot, and your city caps how big it can be. Then materials: composite decking costs more up front than treated wood but needs less upkeep. Then add-ons: a lift, a roof, electrical. A new dock or slip also pays the county's one-time $412.45 manatee fee.

How do I compare quotes?

  1. Same scope: Make sure each quote covers the same length of wall or the same dock size, and the same repairs.
  2. Permits included?: Ask who pulls the permits and whether the fees are in the price.
  3. What's underneath: For seawalls, whether tiebacks and anchors are checked or replaced; for docks, whether pilings are.
  4. The license: Look the contractor up on the state's license search.

See seawall repair, dock repair and the permits guide for more on each job.

Common questions

Why are seawall prices given per foot?

Because length drives the work: every foot needs panels, cap, joint sealing and a share of the tiebacks and anchors.

Does homeowners insurance cover seawalls or docks?

It depends on the policy and the cause. Check your policy and ask your agent before work starts, especially after a storm.

How can I keep costs down?

Catch problems early. Sealing a joint and filling a small hollow costs far less than rebuilding a wall that has started to lean.
